The 2020 season presented many challenges. There was a new set of rules for everyone to absorb and follow.

Below are some of the ways we were able to keep bowling despite Covid-19!

Back on the green...

After being locked down from March, we were at last able to 'go outdoors' again...

After much consideration of the safety aspects, we were able to open up the club on a limited basis, and on a sunny 30th May a fairly low-key opening saw the first bowls sent up rinks this year. The green played very well and what a relief it was to be out there again...

Singles Leagues

No sooner we were back out than Graeme's singles leagues kicked in, taking place on Mondays and Thursdays between 10 and 2 pm.
Here are some pictures from the first Thursday games.

Pairs League

Our Aussie Pairs League started on the 24th July...

While it was great being able to bowl amongst ourselves, we also arranged to join in an informal local league of friendly matches, starting with a Ladies match on August 4th...

Bishop Duppas Ladies Friendly

August 4th 2020

This was our first match played this season against another club. It was 'Ladies First' as they showed us all how it should be done!
An enjoyable game ended with Staines ahead on rinks but Bishop Duppas winning on shots.

More games followed, both home and away, against Ashford, Bishop Duppas, Chertsey, Fordbridge Park and Sunbury. Here are a few pictures from some of these matches (as reported on Twitter! Click on the blue links)...

We played Chertsey at home on August 26th...

Followed by Bishop Duppas on September 16th....

Now we look forward to next season. Fingers crossed we are more back to normal!
