The weather was not always kind to us... On the 7th June our home SM Mixed League game against Stanwell was interrupted by rain, but our hardy players battled on winning the day 8 points to 2!
We finished 2nd in the League at the very end of the season.
July saw 2 major fixtures, the 2nd leg of the Spelthorne Shield on 20th and the Spelthorne Trophy on 27th.
We went into the 2nd leg of the Spelthorne Shield 16 shots up after playing the first leg on 25th May. We were able to field 6 rinks once again after a long period when we couldn't, and won 105 shots to 89.
On 27th July we hosted the Spelthorne Trophy played by us against Fordbridge Park and Bishop Duppas.
After a day's bowling the final result was a tie between Bishop Duppas and Staines on 13 points each. A sporting draw was agreed but we retained the trophy for another year.
The calm came before the storm of Finals with a little light relief in the form of the Tom McCarthy Trophy!
The winner was Sean Langford.
